Mirroring the Raspbian Repository
Mirroring of the full Raspbian repository can be accomplished with rsync at archive.raspbian.org::archive.
Sample syntax to mirror the archive would be:
rsync --archive --verbose --delete --delete-delay --delay-updates \ archive.raspbian.org::archive /path/to/local/mirror
The '--dry-run' option can be used to first test out connectivity before attempting a full mirror.
Being Included in Raspbian Mirror List
To be included in the mirror list above, please mirror at least twice a day and contact us by email at root(at)raspbian(dot)org with the following information:
- Country
- Organization or Name
- Contact Name
- Contact Email
- Mirror URLs (please offer at least http and rsync access to your mirror)
- Bandwidth (ie. 100Mbps)
If you want to be included in the mirror redirection system please include in your email permission to do so and information about what geographical area you are prepared to have us send you users from (note: while we will try to send you users only from the area you request the geolocation databases we use are imperfect so we cannot gaurantee that you will not be sent users from outside of the area you specify).
Currently, the repository itself is about 90GB in size with approximately a further 10GB in images etc. Anyone hosting a Raspbian repository mirror should plan on devoting about 250GB to handle future anticipated growth of the repository.
